What should I be doing to maintain my pool?

Run pool at least 12 hours a day (6hr. intervals preferred).
Keep chlorine sticks or pucks in skimmer at all times.
Use unstable chlorine (Calcium Hypochlorite) late evenings only once a week to super chlorinate.
Following morning of super chlorination, a maintenance dose of algaecide is recommended.
Twice a month a maintenance dosage of Scale & Iron should be used to prevent discoloration.
Test PH and chlorine at least twice a week.
